I obtained a bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Barcelona (UB) and a masters degree in Pharmaceutical and Biotechnological Industry at the Pompeu Fabra University also in Barcelona. During my master research project I conducted High Throughput Screening (HTS) campaigns in the field of antibacterials in a pharmaceutical company (Ferrer Internacional). Then I obtained a Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona working between the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) and the Evolutionary Immunology Group in the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (IBB). My Ph.D. project was focused on developing a nanoliposome delivery system for the administration of several immunostimulants to enhance the immune system of zebrafish. This work involved the design, development and characterization of different liposomal formulations and their in vitro application in a wide range of fish and human cell cultures, as well as their in vivo biodistribution and efficacy studies in zebrafish. In June 2015 I joined the University of East Anlgia as a post-doc researcher, where I will be involved in the DNA-TRAP project.
