The UEA team, Dr Chris Morris, Dr Kostas Hatzixanthis, Dr Leo Sitia, Dr Amalia Ruiz and helpers Marianna Hatzixanthi, Liam Morris, Theo Hatzixanthis, and Chama Suwanchomphoo, had a very successful day at the Norwich Science Festival on Sunday the 30th October in the Forum.
They ran a stall where children (and interested adults), could make a model of a bacterial cell to take home. They were also showing the importance of good hand washing using UV light boxes to explain germ transfer. Lastly the stall presented posters explaining element of the grant’s work, such as nanoparticles, antibacterial resistance and information about bacteria. We estimate that approx. 200 children made a bacterial cell to take home, and many more engaged with our scientists. A truly enjoyable day for everyone!!
